Hi there,

I'm trying to build an audio/video conferencing system in C#.NET using a Videocamera (P3215-VE Network Camera), an Audio Module with a mic connected to it (P8221 I/O Audio Module) and a speaker (C1004-E). Up to now I have successfully implemented a way to view the video stream from the Camera in my GUI using the AXIS Media Control SDK, but I have no idea how to send an audio stream from the mic to the speakers.

I have tried using VAPIX to capture the audio through a GET request (http://AudioModuleIP/axis-cgi/audio/receive.cgi) and then listen to the recorded stream with a POST method (http://SpeakersIP/axis-cgi/audio/transmit.cgi) but it doesn't work. I've also tried using the AMC with the following comands: axAxisMediaControl1.AudioTransmitURL and axAxisMediaControl1.AudioTransmitStart(), but again unsuccessfully. Is it because AMC only works with cameras or bc I'm doing something wrong?

My idea is to be able to send audio to the speakers (from the Audio Module or from my PC) by pushing a button in the application. Does anyone know how to implement this?

This will help you to find the right commands.

https://www.axis.com/ftp/pub_soft/Solut ... _Setup.zip

Use Wireshark to monitor the commands send to the speaker.

Dear Cheng,

Thank you so much for your help. Is there any way I could get the Visual studio solution file of that application? I've successfully found the comands using Wireshark as you indicated and the Post/get requests have worked in Postman, but I can't manage to make it work in my own code, which is my main goal. Thanks again for your help.

Hi Pablo,

The apps is a freeware from Axis. Ask Axis Support nicely and you should be able to get the source code.

I am connecting to an Axis Q1615 Mk II streaming audio using the POST command. One of the headers for the POST command is "Authorization: Basic cm9vdDpwYXNz" (for a user id/password = root/pass). I do have a root/pass login for that camera but the audio does not stream. If I allow anonymous connections and send the POST command without the "Authorization: Basic cm9vdDpwYXNz" header the audio streams fine.

As a side note if I stream the POST command to an Axis P1343 camera using the "Authorization: Basic cm9vdDpwYXNz" header it works fine.

Did the encryption algorithm change for the user id/password combo on the Q1615 model?

To Craig,

I cannot exactly remember from which firmware the default authentication is change from basic authentication. Change this back and your Q1615 May just works fine.

Cheng,

Is there any documentation on how to authenticate using the new method? I don't mind using the latest firmware and authentication methods.

Thanks!

/Craig Arnold

Hi Craig,

Q1. Is there any documentation on how to authenticate using the new method? I don't mind using the latest firmware and authentication methods.
A1. Sorry, I am no programmer so I cannot help here. Post this question to Axis Live Chat or submit an Axis helpdesk ticket.
