I am looking for commands to configure a single "quad"-like stream, but with only 3 camera inputs.
2 would be smaller, above a 3rd larger (wide angle) camera. So it will display on screen as one video stream.
Any help is appreciated.

It will be difficult. Only way that I know is possible is via vlc.

If it is not this, then you have to do your own script on a linux server and fiddle with ffmpeg.

Is there a way that a linux box could make 3 separate requests for snapshots, every 1/10th of a second?
e.g. GetSnapshot from camera 1
GetSnapshot from camera 2
GetSnapshot from camera 3
And then place those 3 elements on the appropriate place on its screen?

Via a full screen browser, I presume. Yes.
