No, sorry we don't have examples in Java. We do in .NET and C when using the ACAP SDK.

Best Regards,
Marco

Marco,

Is there any way for a developer to log into the linux device directly to run java code natively, or are we restricted to just the API interface?

thank you,
Dave

FYI, enabling the shell seems to have done something, now on to the next step. :D

Still struggling to get Java to work. What I have done is setup a version of MIPS Java 6 on the SD card and can access and see it, but I am unable to execute anything on the card. It appears that the OS is locked to specific folders which you can execute from, everything else says, "Permission Denied". I can run from /root folder but since the JAVA jre is too big to fit there, I can't do that. Anyone know of a way to execute code from the SD card?

FYI I have gotten passed the permission denied issue, and am running the JRE on the camera and can start up applications but the JRE for MIPS 32-bit is poor and crashes a lot. Working on solving this problem but am quickly running up against the wall.

More information, I have looked into the server logs and I get this information :

This appears to correspond to when I execute the Java command : ./Java -version and get this error :

I'm getting the feeling that the java runtime has to be approved to run. Any insights into this?
