Post subject:  Single Access Control 2 doors with A8105 and A4011

Hi, this is my first time setting up Axis devices and I'm really excited about the potential.

I have 2 entrance doors, the idea is to have each with a A4011 and a A8105 being managed by a single Access Control (A1001). The Doors are 200 feet apart. Is that possible? Are there any instructions on how to approach this setup?

Thanks

Using a single A1001 is not going to work well in this setup. The A1001 is meant to be in the field and not at a head end location. Axis recommends no more than 83ft from door hardware to the A1001. Keep in mind that the A1001 only supports 12V DC locking hardware and there is only 500mA available at the lock relays, total. So, that is 500mA for both door relays.

Altronix does make a companion device called Entrada that can help use and split out 30W of POE which gets you 650mA at 12VDC to each lock. It also allows conversion to 24VDC if that is required.

The A8105 can integrate to the A1001 using 'Events' which will allow the A8105 to send a signal to the A1001 to unlock the door.
