We were looking for alternate solutions to the Axis T8311 Joystick ($430). We discovered the XBox 360 ($37) controller met all our needs. It is a bit sensitive but the security personnel adapted quickly. We use it to control the following camera models: 232D+, 215PTZ, P5532, and 212PTZ

You will need to install the windows drivers found here:

I am older and not a "Gamer". This solution was well accepted by the security team.

they can not just give cameras to random people, its security not meant for u maybe..

Did your company make the controller software public? I only see a link to the Microsoft drivers and a presentation.

I recognize this is an older thread, but we have just released a tool to do just this, including sensitivity management for cameras to speed up or slow down movement.

It is being used successfully for multi-cam broadcast of multiple sports, conferences, worship services, and security teams (simpler for tracking than their NVRs).
